We are a national and remote-working charity and occasionally have opportunities for people passionate about the healthcare workforce to join us.

What we offer

Trustee - Treasurer

We are looking for someone with a financial management or controls background or someone who has previous experience as a Treasurer to join us. You’ll possess commercial awareness and be a good communicator, with the ability to explain financial information.

The successful applicant will have an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. The role will incorporate monitoring the financial standing of the charity and reports to the Board; overseeing HWF’s financial risk-management and health; acting as a counter-signatory on finance approvals and applications to funders; liaison with independent examiners on financial issues ensuring that HWF’s finances are responsibly managed and invested for the betterment of the organisation’s work and the beneficiaries it serves.

Our Board comprises:

  • The Chair
  • The Treasurer
  • A minimum of three appointed Trustees (currently five Board members)

Trustees

We are looking for experienced business professionals to join our Board to help increase the breadth of knowledge and expertise available to the organisation.

Successful applicants will have a commitment to the charity and its purpose, strategic vision and good independent judgement. A willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to this role is essential. We are looking for individuals with a sound understanding of business management to provide assistance in setting the charity’s future direction and overseeing all decisions relating to the development of our organisation.

We are looking for people with the ability to think creatively, work as a member of the team and provide help and advice to our staff team and as an integral part of the current Board of Trustees in monitoring the day-to-day running of the charity. The role will include ensuring that all aspects of the charity’s work are ethical, legal and of the highest quality to further the cause of the charity and the beneficiaries it serves.

eBay Volunteer

We are looking for an eBay whizz who could harness their knowledge of the eBay selling platform to help raise funds for our vital work.

Working with our Engagement & Operations Manager, you’ll have skills to produce well-written, concise and appealing adverts to encourage the purchase of our donated items. You should know your way around the eBay for Charity system and have great management skills to be able to track interest, complete any follow-up queries quickly and complete the sale for HWF.

This post can be carried out remotely and will take an approx. commitment of 3 – 4 hours per week and continue until our stock is sold.
